Driving through Tuscany is such a treat. It feels like every large hilltop is home to another little medieval town that you must see. This is the Chianti region of Tuscany, wine country for sure, but also the land of wonderful meats, cheeses, and olive oil.

Cheese made locally are some of the best I have ever eaten. I love the soft lamb cheeses and I always grab a big chunk to take with me!

As expected, every little hilltop Tuscan town has it's church. Usually at the top of the hill and surrounded by a piazza.

Don't be shy about driving off the main highways to visit these little hilltop towns. Each has it's own charm and walking their streets really takes you back to a simpler time.
